Preparatory courses

Um einen guten Übergang von der Schule zum Studium zu ermöglichen, stellt die Universität Paderborn Kurse zur Auffrischung des Schulstoffs der Mathematik und Informatik bereit. Wir möchten euch an dieser Stelle dazu auffordern, euch die Chance der Vorbereitungskurse nicht entgehen zu lassen!

To enable a good transition from school to university, the University of Paderborn provides courses to refresh the school material of mathematics and computer science. At this point, we would like to encourage you not to miss the chance of the preparatory courses!

Vorkurs Mathematik

Preliminary course mathematics

Im Vorkurs Mathematik wird innerhalb von etwa 4 Wochen die gesamte Oberstufenmathematik noch einmal durchgearbeitet. Gerade nach längerer Pause ist dies eine sehr sinnvolle Wiederholung und erleichtert den Studieneinstieg erheblich.

In the pre-course mathematics, the entire upper school mathematics is worked through again within about 4 weeks. Especially after a longer break, this is a very useful repetition and facilitates the start of studies considerably.

Vorkurs Informatik

Preliminary course computer science

Im Gegensatz zum Vorkurs Mathematik möchte der Vorkurs Informatik vor allem denjenigen unter Euch den Einstieg ins Studium erleichtern, die in der Schule das Fach Informatik nicht belegt hatten oder belegen konnten. In diesem werdet interaktiv die Programmiersprache Python lernen und mit dieser erste grundlegende Konzepte der Informatik erarbeitet. Die Themen dieses Vorkurses könnte Grund- und Leistungskursteilnehmern bereits bekannt sein.

In contrast to the preliminary course in mathematics, the preliminary course in computer science is intended to make it easier for those of you who did not or could not take computer science at school but nevertheless had the idea of studying this subject. The topics of this preliminary course are already well known to basic and advanced course participants.

Bis zur Corona-Epidemie haben wir Vorkursteilnehmer zu kleinen Events wie z.B. Hotdogs Essen eingeladen. Jedoch in der Corona-Zeit sind mit der Coronaschutzverordnung NRW selbst solche kleinen Event ein großer Verwaltungsakt. Da alle Vorkurse ausschließlich digital stattfinden, wird es diese kleinen Events im Wintersemester 2020/21 nicht geben, sofern Corona bis dahin nicht überwunden worden ist.

*Until the Corona epidemic, we invited the pre-course students who didn’t know what to do with their free time in the new, unknown Paderborn to small events like a hotdog meal. But now it is Corona time and the Corona Protection Ordinance NRW makes even such small events a big administrative act. Since all pre-courses are exclusively digital, these small events will not take place in the winter semester 2020/21 if Corona is not eradicated by then.
